Anger Management

Teaching skills to manage anger and communicate emotional needs.

Anger Management

Anger is a basic human emotion that everyone experiences. However, for many, anger is an emotion that often causes problems. You may have found yourself in situations where anger has gotten the best of you. Or maybe you’ve been told that how you respond when you are angry is negatively impacting those around you. When we respond poorly in anger it can lead to serious consequences. It can affect what we do, deteriorate the relationships we have and lead us to feel guilt and shame.

Anger issues are becoming more prevalent in our increasingly stressful culture. Adults and youth both fall victim to lashing out in anger when faced with prolonged and heightened stress. As a result, our homes, workplaces, schools, and neighborhoods all suffer the consequences of mishandled anger .

There are skills that every person needs to learn to appropriately manage anger. Therapy provides a safe place to examine your experience with anger and to learn those skills in a way that is unique and relevant to your life. Together, we will consider what triggers you to get angry, and how to effectively respond to anger. By applying these skills you will see a noticeable difference immediately in the ways you respond to stress and anger. Clients report an increase in self-awareness and responding to anger and other emotions in a far more beneficial way. You can make improvements that you are proud of.

Let’s work together to discover new ways of emotional expression that promote healthy relationships. Contact me today for a free phone consultation or to schedule your first meeting.
